Board of Directors Thoughts for 2012
2012
thoughts on what the board of directors would like to accomplish during the
upcoming season. Stocking:
Thoughts are we need to see how our walleye stocking of 2011 went before
we decide to back up that stocking with another walleye stocking in 2012.
We assumed our growth rate to be great enough during 2011 that walleye
could be harvested during 2012 but as of the end of 2011 we’re not sure that
materialized so we’ll see if we have an ice fishing season and how walleye
catches are and what the size of those are at this time.
Findlay Fishing Clubs 2011 Year in Review
2011 Memberships
We had 46 full year members and 24 half year members
2011 Fish Stocking
On April 23rd we stocked
200 6 – 8” walleyes at a cost of $1,011.75.
We anticipate they will be at our legal length for our 2012 season
2011 Club Projects
In the early Spring picnic tables that were purchased in the fall of 2010 were stationed around the pond for our members use. It made a nice addition to our club for all.
We did a lot of weed, brush & tree trimming around the pond along with bank & weed treatments during our 2011 season.
We filled low spots in our driveway along with low spots and holes in walk areas between the drive and pond.
In the fall the outhouse was re-shelled and painted.
2011 Fish Recordings
Our members recorded 2,409 fish being caught during 274 member visits for an average of 8.79 fish caught per visit. ALL members please remember to record all your visits.
2011 Annual Meeting
Our Annual Meeting was held on Mon. Oct. 24th at the Fern Café. Elections of Officers for the 2012 Board of Directors were as follows: Pres. Rick Rowe, V.P. Andrew Hvizdos, Sec./Treas. Roger Hoffman, Webmaster Jim Peoples, Sergeant of Arms, Shawn Reffitt
Special Mention
We had a few retirements that we need to mention. Webmaster Mel Henzler and V.P. John Doyle both retired their positions for the 2012 season. Both have been on the Board of Directors for years and have done outstanding jobs. The Findlay Fishing Club will certainly miss these outstanding members, but hopefully we’ll still get to see them around the pond. BEST WISHES to both and a BIG THANKS for all they’ve done during their time on the Board of Directors.
